RP-Weekly, May 17th

A NOTE FROM JOHN

Hi RP Family -

As Phil announced to us, this Sunday at Park Rogers Park is Neighborhood Partners Sunday! Our Sunday service will include a couple components that will help us know who some of our local ministry partners are and how it is that we can and do work together. It's going to be a fun time of hearing some great voices tell us about what God is doing in their ministries and the important role our local church plays with them.

Very excited to have Doc Fuder give us a word about God's faithfulness to the city, to start off. And, then we'll have a panel on stage, which will include Scott Parker from Night Church/North of Howard, Shine Gidla of Sabka Sahaara, James and Natalie Crockett of C24/7, and Ed Kraal of La Vid.

Many of us at RP have poured into these and other local ministry spaces, which is so vital toward advancing the mission of the church in reaching the neighborhood and renewing the city. Many of our partners are attending to the under-resourced and marginalized of our city. The Bible has a lot to say about "the widow and the orphan" and "the needy and the poor." James 1:27 communicates to us that "pure religion," or in another words 'faultless ritual worship', looks like attending to the needs of these groups "in their distress." Jesus gives us these words to take to heart in Matthew 25:40: "Truly, I say to you, as you [served] one of the least of these my brothers, you [served] me."

God is calling us to be sent out into the city in a variety of ways, so that the words of Psalm 47:1 may be heard: "Clap your hands, all peoples! Shout to God with loud songs of joy!"

Warmly,
John, Associate Pastor RP

Serving at Park-RP

When you join a serving team, you're not just volunteering; you're becoming an integral part of our church family. It's where friendships begin, where commitment is strengthened, and where you will truly start to feel like you belong.

Giving at Park-RP

We believe that giving is an act of worship. It recognizes God as the owner and source of all we have. It is our cheerful response to God in praise of His radical generosity towards us.

Neighborhood Partners

Collaboration allows us to leverage our strengths, compensate for our weaknesses, and reach areas and demographics of our city that might otherwise remain untouched.

SESSION 2 (5/26): Paul & Barnabas in Lystra (Acts 14:8-20)
SESSION 3 (6/2): Paul & Silas in Prison (Acts 16:16-40)
SESSION 4 (6/9): Paul’s Shipwreck (Acts 27:27-28:5)

Note for Elementary kids parents: As we look to the summer schedule for our RP Kids ministry, we have prayerfully decided to give our Elementary kids the opportunity to remain in service once a month on the following dates:
5/26/2024
6/16/2024
7/14/2024
8/11/2024
We hope and pray this will give our Elementary kids a great experience of being a part of our wider church family. It will also mean that our RP Kids ministry team will not be asked to serve twice a month throughout the summer as we have a reduced number of team members. We appreciate your understanding and are happy to discuss this further if helpful!

If you have recently joined our church or have a new child please register them here.
