RP-Weekly, June 7th
Good Morning RP!
Last Sunday, we kicked off our summer sermon series in the Minor Prophets, looking at the the Prophet Hosea and the reminder that despite our unfaithfulness to God He remains faithful to us. This week I'll be teaching from the Book of Joel where we read this beautiful verse speaking of God's heart, through Christ, to do a work of restoration in our lives.

“I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten, the hopper, the destroyer, and the cutter, my great army, which I sent among you.†(Joel 2:25, ESV)
This Sunday is also our first Park in the Park' for the Summer! We'll gather on Sunday from 3pm onwards in Loyola Park on the grass by the Volley Ball Courts, where Loyola Park meets Farewell Ave. We'll have a Grill setup this year with free hotdogs! available to anyone and all - this is a great opportunity for us as a church family to spend time deepening friendships with one another playing and having fun, and also an opportunity to be present as a church with a heart to befriend and welcome others from our neighborhood! Bring a ball, Bring a frisbee, Bring a picnic, Bring your kids, Bring yourself! Come on out! And a big shout out to Adam Pennington for building on the heart of last year to make this year even better!
This Sunday, during service we will also have the joy of a 'New Members Dedication' in service where we will welcome, Xavier and Maddie Iddriss, Tre and Heather Demps, Rashad and Mo Byrd and Amanda Fries into Membership at RP! Membership is the formal step of commitment followers of Christ make to live out their faith within the community and accountability of a local church, under the shepherding care and oversight of pastors and elders. We are thrilled to welcome these new members to our church family!

SESSION 3 (6/2): Paul & Silas in Prison (Acts 16:16-40)
SESSION 4 (6/9): Paul’s Shipwreck (Acts 27:27-28:5)
Note for Elementary kids parents: As we look to the summer schedule for our RP Kids ministry, we have prayerfully decided to give our Elementary kids the opportunity to remain in service once a month on the following dates:

7/14/2024
8/11/2024
We hope and pray this will give our Elementary kids a great experience of being a part of our wider church family. It will also mean that our RP Kids ministry team will not be asked to serve twice a month throughout the summer as we have a reduced number of team members. We appreciate your understanding and are happy to discuss this further if helpful!
