Park-RP End of Budget Year 2023/24 Update
Park-RP,
In Philippians 4:8, the Apostle Paul writes, “if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.â€
In this verse, Paul is not imploring us to blindly praise God without consideration, but rather to devote our thought lives to the habit of regularly bringing to mind the very considerations that make Him worthy of our praise.
And, as a Church there is much for which God is worthy of our praise!
To name just a few items - Celebrating the Baptisms of Devin, a few months ago, and then Hailey, Mo, Andrew, Vivianna, Norah and Micah, this past Sunday, was a reminder of the on-going power of the Gospel to bring newness of life in Christ. This Summer we’ve had 160+ kids in the neighborhood register for Soccer Camp who will each hear the Good News of Jesus and be introduced to churches and ministries in our neighborhood. The spirit of ‘sentness’ at RP is alive and well as we send off those the Lord is leading to plant another Gospel-proclaiming church in Uptown. We have much to praise God for!
As we enter the final weeks of our current Budget Year (Sept 2023 - August 2024), I want to say thank you for your generosity! Along with the incredible culture of serving at RP, your sacrificial giving has allowed us to continue in the good work God has prepared for us in the North Side of Chicago, both at RP locally, but also through our contribution to Mission:All (Breakers, Aperion, Christiana La Vid, Sabka Sahaara) and our Global Partners serving around the world.
Praise God, our giving at Park RP ‘Year to Date’ (not including July giving) is $387k, which is nearly $10k higher than this time last year. We are grateful that giving has increased since last year. However, with the significant deficit we faced coming into the year, our current giving still leaves us trending $9k under our goal. The total giving goal for this current budget year is $472k.
To meet our 2023/24 giving goal we’d need our combined giving this July and August to be $9k higher than we forecast - which, knowing our church family, I believe working together we can absolutely accomplish!
With just a week left in July and as we enter August (the final month of our 2023/24 Budget Year), would you take a moment of extra intentionality to prayerfully consider your regular giving? And, ask whether you would consider a special one-off gift to Park-RP in the coming weeks?
What a joy it would be to enter the 2024/25 Budget year and the Fall Ministry season with the confidence of having met this goal to resource the on-going work of our church!

Note for Elementary kids parents: As we look to the summer schedule for our RP Kids ministry, we have prayerfully decided to give our Elementary kids the opportunity to remain in service once a month on the following dates:

We hope and pray this will give our Elementary kids a great experience of being a part of our wider church family. It will also mean that our RP Kids ministry team will not be asked to serve twice a month throughout the summer as we have a reduced number of team members. We appreciate your understanding and are happy to discuss this further if helpful!
